Kids United Against Hunger is a Long Island Cares initiative that educates and engages 6-12-year-old students. This program fosters awareness of food insecurity’s local impact while encouraging community involvement.
Through various activities, participants learn about the unique challenges faced by food-insecure families. The workshops are followed by discussions with Long Island Cares food banking experts.
The programs conclude with a community service project tied to the students’ newfound insights.
Upon completion, students receive a certificate and up to two hours of community service credit.
Virtual sessions are available upon request. Please contact Christine Brown at [email protected] or (631) 582-3663, ext.120, to learn more or register.
