New Paths to Achievement Program

New Paths to Achievement: Career & Personal Development (NPTA) is designed to help Long Islanders succeed in addressing career, education, and personal goals. Our program provides the necessary tools and resources to gain self-confidence, improve job search strategies, and secure employment opportunities.

Program Delivery:

  • Mentoring and diverse group workshops (in-person and web-based)
  • Referrals through Long Island Cares locations and partner agencies
  • Collaboration with Suffolk County Department of Labor, community libraries, and local multi-service agencies for training programs, educational opportunities, and job fair access

Program Workshops Include:

  • Personal Development: Managing Stress, Goal Setting, Time Management, Budgeting 101
  • Career Development: Job Search Strategies, Resume & Cover Letter Writing, Communications & Interview Skills Training, Networking & Social Media for Job Seekers
  • Coaching and Mentoring: Collaborate with our New Paths to Achievement Program Manager to build a resume, practice interviewing, and explore career options.

Training Work Experience and Outreach:

Gain skills and valuable experience through volunteer opportunities and internships with Long Island Cares and our community partners in Nassau and Suffolk Counties.
