Feeding Our Families is a one-day, multi-state food and donation drive helping local food banks when they need it most. On Saturday, September 13, NBC 4 New York, Telemundo 47, and Stop & Shop will host the drive at nearly 180 Stop & Shop locations across the Tri-State area. Starting at 8 AM, shoppers can fill collection bins with much-needed non-perishable items—like canned goods, diapers, and hygiene products—or round up their bill at checkout to directly support neighbors in need.

Van's Story
“When my monthly pay wasn’t covering all my expenses, I decided to look for help. Someone mentioned a church nearby, and they gave me a list of places that could help. That’s how I found the South Shore Service Center,” he says.
“Every Tuesday, I know I can go there as a veteran and find what I need,” Van shares. “But I don’t take more than I need. At one point, they had the food already bagged, and I told them, ‘No, no, no, I only take what I need.’”

Long Island Cares will join NBC 4 New York (WNBC), Telemundo 47 (WNJU), and Stop & Shop for the Feeding Our Families / Alimentando a Nuestras Familias Food Drive, a major one-day, multi-state effort to fight hunger. From 8 AM to 8 PM, more than 1,000 volunteers will be on site at nearly 180 Stop & Shop locations across the Tri-State area collecting critical non-perishable food and personal hygiene items to support eight regional Feeding America food banks. Shoppers can also take part all week long by rounding up their grocery bill at checkout, with spare change directly helping local families in need.
