We’re delivering farm-fresh produce directly to neighborhoods across Long Island—completely free. Thanks to Bank of America and the NY Food for NY Families program, our refrigerated Farm to Truck initiative connects local farms to families who need it most.
Our First Stop Food Pantries provide fresh produce, protein, and pantry staples to individuals and families across Nassau and Suffolk Counties. In partnership with more than 320 local agencies, we make sure nutritious food is always within reach for anyone in need.
When crisis hits—whether it's a storm, fire, or flood—Long Island Cares is here with food, water, pet supplies, and household essentials to help you recover. Our Emergency Response and Recovery Program ensures that no one faces disaster alone, providing fast, compassionate support across Nassau and Suffolk Counties.
Hope for the Homeless, sponsored by NBTY and run by Long Island Cares, provides direct support to the homeless by offering housing information, food, and hygiene items, where they live. The program collaborates with Nassau and Suffolk Counties to raise awareness and connect individuals with essential resources.
Our Mobile Food Assistance Unit brings free, healthy groceries and emergency food directly into Long Island communities—no pantry trip required. Traveling throughout Nassau and Suffolk Counties, these outreach vans also provide helpful resources and referrals right where people need them most.
The Mobile Pantry program delivers essential food, pet supplies, and household items directly to homebound Long Islanders—especially seniors, disabled veterans, and individuals with medical conditions—who can’t access a local pantry.
With over 320 Member Agencies across Nassau and Suffolk, Long Island Cares extends its reach through soup kitchens, group homes, and local nonprofits that share one goal: to feed and care for our neighbors in need.
