For more than 46 years, Long Island Cares has carried forward Harry Chapin’s mission of fighting food insecurity. Guided by his spirit of action, our staff, volunteers, and supporters provide meals, resources, and hope to thousands of neighbors every year. Our programs touch people at every stage of life—from children relying on school and summer meal programs, to homebound seniors receiving deliveries, to veterans and families turning to our food pantries for emergency support. Even pets are provided for, ensuring that no member of the family is left behind.
Through it all, Harry’s vision remains our guiding principle. His belief in a hunger-free Long Island continues to inspire every meal we serve, every family we support, and every life we touch—keeping his legacy alive today and for generations to come.
