In November 2024 Marcum LLP, Long Island’s largest accounting firm, became a part of CBIZ. Through their partnership with Long Island Cares, CBIZ has demonstrated how businesses can address critical issues like food insecurity while fostering a culture of purpose and camaraderie.
A Tradition of Giving Back
CBIZ’s annual Day of Service, launched in 2015, is a cornerstone of their corporate responsibility efforts. Held the day before Thanksgiving, this initiative brings associates together across the U.S. to make a meaningful impact in their local communities.
“Not only does this support the community, but it also fosters a sense of camaraderie and collective purpose across the firm,” CBIZ shared. “On Long Island, we have a special place in our heart for Long Island Cares, which does tangible, life-saving work for our neighbors in need.”
CBIZ’s commitment is further strengthened by Carolyn Mazzenga, their Office Managing Director, who serves on the Long Island Cares board. “It is our honor to do our small part to help your cause,” they added.
Creating Impact Through Volunteerism
CBIZ’s volunteers have supported Long Island Cares in numerous ways, from making us beneficiaries of their annual race to packing Thanksgiving meals through the Adopt-A-Family campaign. For CBIZ, the experience goes beyond the tasks at hand.
“What stands out to me each year is the sense of purpose and the sense of joy the volunteers have for the mission,” CBIZ explained. “Long Island Cares staff were not only helpful but joyful, and so committed to the mission. This year, we also got an education on all of the programs that Long Island Cares assists, and our volunteers came away impressed and inspired.”
