Introducing Aspara’Gus’ the Dragon –
the dynamic, vibrant mascot of Long Island Cares! Gus isn’t just any mascot; he’s the official face of our mission to tackle hunger on Long Island head-on!
His job? To pump up the community, educate students about food insecurity, and ignite a passion for making a real difference.
We’re looking for energetic volunteers to step into Gus’s shoes! We need folks bursting with energy, passionate, and ready to interact with our community.
As Gus, you’ll spread your wings at special events and gatherings, captivating audiences with infectious enthusiasm and friendly vibes.
It’s all about spreading awareness, sparking conversations, and rallying everyone to join the fight against hunger!

Requirements
- 18 years of age or older
- Between the heights of 5’9″ and 6’1″
- Energetic
Essential Functions
- Short choreographed and freestyle dancing (for social media and to engage with participants)
- Actively engaging with all guests
- Posing for photos
- Nonverbally communicating with guests of all ages
- Interacting in the costume for up to 2 hours at a time
