Long Island Cares – The Harry Chapin Regional Food Bank has been on a mission to feed Long Islanders facing food insecurity and address its root causes since our founding by the late Harry Chapin in 1980.

Legislative Priorities Agenda

Every year, the Chapin Center for Public Policy of Long Island Cares determines the legislative priorities for Long Island Cares, Inc.—The Harry Chapin Regional Food Bank. Our 2024 Legislative Priorities Agenda primarily focuses on legislation designed to provide resources to both food-insecure families and food banks dedicated to fighting hunger in their respective communities. We are eager to work with our elected officials to continue the fight against food insecurity.
