LONG ISLAND CARES – THE HARRY CHAPIN FOOD BANK AWARDED HIGHEST RATING BY CHARITY NAVIGATOR
HAUPPAUGE -Long Island Cares, Inc. – The Harry Chapin Food Bank has been awarded a 4-star rating for the 7th consecutive time by Charity Navigator, America’s premier charity evaluator. Long Island Cares has received this rating for sound fiscal management and its ability to “efficiently manage and grow its finances, execute its mission in a fiscally responsible way outperforming most other charities in America.” According to Charity Navigator, “only 4% of the charities they rate have received seven consecutive four-star evaluations, indicating that Long Island Cares outperforms most other charities in America.” This exceptional designation “differentiates Long Island Cares from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust.”
“This latest rating from Charity Navigator comes at a time when our organization is expanding our community services programs to provide additional direct services to people in need, including our Mobile School Pantry Program and our Children’s Breakfast Food Trucks,” said Robin Amato, Chief Development Officer for Long Island Cares, Inc. “I think people recognize the investment we’re making in redefining the role of the food bank and are responding very favorably,” Amato said. “Of course none of this would be possible without the direction and leadership of our CEO Paule Pachter, CFO Bruce Gaugler and his talented accounting team, and our Board of Directors.”
