💚 Mental Health Awareness: Year-Round Compassion Rock Project

Support Mental Wellness Through Art & Earn Community Service Hours

Food insecurity isn’t just a physical issue—it has a deep emotional impact. The stress, anxiety, and uncertainty of not knowing where your next meal is coming from can take a toll on mental health, especially for families and children already facing hardship.

To promote mental wellness and emotional support for our neighbors, Long Island Cares invites youth volunteers to participate in a special, year-round community service project.

🎨 What Students Will Do:

Design and paint Compassion Rocks with uplifting messages in English, Spanish, or Haitian Creole. These kindness rocks will be displayed in our Mental Wellness Corner at the Huntington Station satellite location, where food pantry guests can choose one to take home for inspiration and encouragement.

Students receive 1 hour of community service for every 5 rocks submitted (no limit).
