A roster of popular musicians and recording artists including Heart, Yoko Ono, Melissa Etheridge, Little Steven, Jackson Browne, Nils Lofgren, Ani DeFranco, and others have recorded a unique CD aimed at the growing demand on food banks and opposing anticipated budget cuts to food stamps and other support for people in need. The “Tunes4Food” Redemption Day soundtrack album produced by Buffalo New York grassroots group will be released on November 19, 2013. Proceeds will be donated to three food banks including those in Buffalo, Cleveland, and Long Island Cares, Inc. – The Harry Chapin Food Bank.
“We are amazed and grateful that what began as veteran musicians mentoring students on how to make a difference, now has these big name and national partners like Feeding America supporting our efforts to address the issue of hunger in America,” said Bob James, Coordinator.
“Given the abundant planet we live on, there should be no hungry people anywhere, including America. Please support this worthy cause however you can. We can all help and solutions are our collective responsibility,” expressed Nils Lofgren, Guitarist and Songwriter, The E Street Band.
