CESAR MILLAN TO HOST PET FOOD DRIVE TO SUPPORT LONG ISLAND CARES’ PET PANTRY AT NYCB THEATRE AT WESTBURY SHOW

Cesar-Millan 1HAUPPAUGE, NY – December 28, 2015 – Cesar Millan the popular host of the hit cable television show, “Cesar 911” will be appearing at the NYCB Theatre at Westbury on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at 3:00 PM.  Fans of the popular dog behaviorist are being asked to bring a donation of pet food to the theatre before the show to support Baxter’s Pet Pantry, a program of Long Island Cares, Inc. – The Harry Chapin Food Bank.  Long Island Cares provides free pet food and supplies to families who are struggling with food insecurity in an effort to support them to keep their pets at home as opposed to placing them in animal shelters due to a lack of pet food.  Long Island Cares’ staff will be in the lobby of theatre collecting donations to support their efforts, along with North Shore Animal League and Petco.
 
BAXTER'S PET PANTRYAccording to Paule Pachter, Chief Executive Officer of Long Island Cares, Inc., “Baxter’s Pet Pantry has distributed more than one million pounds of pet food and pet supplies since 2010.  All of the food has been donated by the pet food industry, Long Islanders, and as a result of pet food drives hosted by our local legislators and others.”  More than 200 of the regional food bank’s 584 member agencies and pantries request deliveries of pet food on a regular basis to assist people in need including veterans and seniors.  The pet pantry is located at all three of Long Island Cares’ satellite centers in Freeport, Lindenhurst and Huntington Station.  For more information on how to donate, call (631) 582-FOOD.
