Let’s Come Together This #GivingTuesday To Make A Difference On Long Island

November 14, 2018

#GivingTuesday is right around the corner. Will you be giving back?

Giving Tuesday is the Tuesday following Thanksgiving when people all over the world choose to support a cause that is significant to them. It rides the same wave as Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday and is a good day to reflect on what’s important in the grand scheme of things. Giving Tuesday was started in 2012 in an effort to raise awareness and make a difference. When you support Long Island Cares this Giving Tuesday, you’re saying you care about the lives of our food insecure neighbors.
On Long Island, 283,700 people receive emergency food each year. That number includes 89,000 children who do not always know where their next meal is coming from. We’re working to create a solution to this problem. Along with Feeding America and our 600+ member agencies, we’ve established a network that moves resources to those who need it most.
When you support Long Island Cares this holiday season, you support an end to hunger. Give you gift be fore midnight on Tuesday, November 27 and help make a difference. Your support will give hungry children, families, and seniors on Long Island nutritious meals they might not otherwise have.
When you make a donation, remember to speak to your employer about corporate matching. Many employers will match the donations their employees give, doubling the good you do!
