Today We Kicked Off The Summer Feeding Program

June 26, 2017

Summer is a great time of year, especially here in Long Island.

But for families who suffer from food insecurity, summer can be plagued with anxiety about feeding the kids. Many children in underserved communities receive meals from their schools, so when school is out of session, so are the regular breakfast services.
However, at Long Island Cares we know breakfast is the most important meal of the day so we stepped up to the plate to deliver cold breakfast to those in need of healthy food. You can find one of our beautiful (and colorful) breakfast food trucks out and about every day this summer.
