The Staller Center for the Arts at Stony Brook University is partnering with Long Island Cares, Inc. to raise awareness of hunger and food insecurity on Long Island by donating a block of tickets to a special performance of “Cuisine & Confessions.”  A smash around the world, the latest from the world-famous circus The 7 Fingers, celebrates its U.S. premiere of “Cuisine & Confessions” this time you are invited into their kitchen for a multi-sensory marvel.  “Cuisine & Confessions” showcases this innovative troupe’s trademark acrobatic and choreographic prowess – but this time, adds sound, smell, touch, and taste! The result is a literal theatrical feast! This completely original stir-fry of theatrical brilliance incorporates circus thrills with lots of laughs. These amazing circus performers also touch our emotions as they share vulnerable stories from their past, almost like a circus “A Chorus Line” – foods prepared, memories made — and the rituals that underpin the most important relationships in our lives.  Since forming in Montreal in 2002 as an off-shoot of Cirque du Soleil, The 7 Fingers has toured over 300 cities in over 40 countries. A circus company built on a human scale, they have produced a dozen shows with over 4200 performances to date, including the musical Pippin on Broadway, and the long-running hits Traces and the off-Broadway cabaret, Queen of the Night.
Ticket holders are also encouraged to bring a donation of non-perishable food to support Long Island Cares, The Harry Chapin Food Bank.
