Lily Tomlin is undisputedly one of the funniest and most talented comediennes and actresses of our time. Since her early television career began in 1967 on Rowan & Martin’s Laugh In”, she has enjoyed astronomical success with several characters, most notably, Ernestine, a nosy, condescending telephone operator who generally treated customers with little sympathy and regard. In films, Lily Tomlin has portrayed other memorable characters and has had award winning roles in such films as: Robert Altman’s Nashville; Nine to Five; The Incredible Shrinking Woman; I Heart Huckabee; A Prairie Home Companion and others. She has costarred with Dolly Parton, Cher, Jane Fonda and other leading ladies and men. She will also receive Kennedy Center Honors in 2015 for her illustrious career in television, film and stage.
