Paule T. Pachter, Chief Executive Officer of Long Island Cares, Inc.-The Harry Chapin Food Bank, has been selected to participate in the Energeia Partnership’s Class of 2015.
Founded in 2005, The Energeia Partnership is a two-year leadership academy dedicated to identifying and addressing the serious, complex and multi-dimensional issues challenging the Long Island region. This program is designed to bring together leaders from across the region, to provide them with the information, networks and resources needed to be change agents.
Pachter joins over 340 graduates who represent diverse sectors of the region and sit on over 260 boards and commissions. “Paule will prove to be an asset not just to this class, but the Energeia Partnership and the future of Long Island,” said Paul Tonna, Executive Director.
“The Energia Partnership provides a unique and important opportunity for leaders from the for-profit and non-profit corporate sectors to come together to discuss and hopefully solve some of the problems and challenges that face the Long Island region,” said Pachter. “Our region has many challenges that can often impede our progress, whether they relate to transportation, the environment, healthcare, energy, sustainable housing or poverty. Long Island is a suburban community with urban problems that need to be addressed by the collective talents of our business and community leaders, and I’m very proud to have been asked to participate in the Class of 2015.”
In addition to being the CEO of Long Island’s regional food bank, Mr. Pachter is a member of the Board of Directors of the Long Island Association and the Long Island Music Hall of Fame. He is also a 2006 recipient of the New York State Liberty Medal, the state’s highest honor for his work in the relief efforts associated with Hurricane Katrina. He received the Town of Hempstead’s “Make A Difference Medal” in 2012 for his work in responding to Super Storm Sandy. He is also a member of the faculty at St. Joseph’s College in Patchogue.
