Long Island Cares published our capacity and Distribution Survey Report in 2009 to measure the capabilities of our network of community-based member agencies to effectively serve the hungry in our region. At that time, many Long Islanders were directly impacted by economic stagnation—increasing foreclosures, unemployment, and rising costs of living. In 2013, we still face many of the same challenges .
