The ninth annual awards program celebrates outstanding community and business leaders, nonprofit executives, organizations, school board members, and Nassau BOCES employees who have made a substantial impact on public education in Nassau County.
“Long Island Cares is proud of this most recent honor for our organization,” said Paule Pachter, Chief Executive Officer. “We have had a long-standing commitment to working with local students and schools in our fight against hunger on Long Island. The regional food bank provides a number of programs that seek to get students involved in our mission including our Student Volunteer Corp., Kids United Against Hunger and others that have been very successful by partnering with wonderful educational organizations like Nassau BOCES.”
“The honorees come from all walks of life and reflect the diversity that is Nassau BOCES. Their work encourages the development of lifelong learners and global citizens, which mirrors our goals as well,” says Dr. Robert Hanna, Nassau BOCES deputy superintendent.
A strategic education partner with local school districts since 1967, Nassau BOCES created this program to pay tribute to those who share its commitment to enabling students of all ages and abilities to achieve their maximum potential.
