Long Island Cares, Inc. formally dedicated our new DD/BR Kitchen Studio this morning at our Hauppauge facility at 10 Davids Drive. This new program provides cooking demonstrations of nutritious foods often available at local food pantries. Our Nutrition staff provides the demonstrations, along with menu planning for our member agencies and children participating in our monthly Kids United Against Hunger Saturday morning educational program.
This latest program at Long Island Cares was funded by a grant from The Dunkin Donuts/Baskin Robbins Foundation and the New York State Department of Health (HPNAP). Most of the cooking utensils and equipment were provided by our corporate partners at Lifetime Brands.
