Long Island Cares, Inc. – The Harry Chapin Food Bank is extremely grateful to Billy Joel for his amazing surprise concert at the Paramount in Huntington on October 16, 2013. We we’re as surprised as all of his fans to learn that he was going to perform on Long Island for the first time in twelve years, and that some of the net proceeds from the ticket sales would be donated to Long Island Cares. Thank you to the wonderful folks at the Paramount for all of their support. And, we were honored that Governor Andrew Cuomo personally presented us with a special proclamation to commemorate this historic music event on Long Island. Thank you to the 1,550 fans who joined us for your very kind and generous support of our work to feed and assist the hungry on Long Island.
