On Thursday, October 3, 2013 Long Island Cares, Inc. will welcome 2,800 children in Grades 1-4 to the NYCB Theatre at Westbury for our second annual Concert for Children’s Hunger Awareness, featuring Tom Chapin & Friends. Classes from 17 Long Island schools have requested the free tickets and are busy in their classrooms learning about hunger and children’s nutrition based upon a special study guide prepared by Tom Chapin. The children also received special concert t-shirts and have been asked to bring a donation of “kid friendly” food to the October 3rd concert that begins at 10:30 a.m. All of the children will receive commemorative wristbands and fresh fruit at the end of the performance. Long Island Cares, Inc. is very grateful to our corporate partners at NBTY Helping Hands for sponsoring this event for the second year in a row. Additional support is being provided by: Stop and Shop; JP Morgan Chase; Perception Imaging; Long Island Ducks; and United Way of Long Island. For more information email: [email protected]
