Ways to Give

Ready to donate to a charity that can make a difference in the lives of your Long Island neighbors? Consider Long Island Cares, one of this region’s most comprehensive hunger assistance organizations. A local charity, Long Island Cares relies on the generosity of corporations and individuals like you to help fulfill our mission – and fight hunger in this community.

While your food donations are always welcome, you also can support Long Island Cares with a car donation, a bequest, simple cash contribution or merchandise purchase. However you choose to support Long Island Cares, you can be confident that donation is truly making a difference in the lives of your neighbors. In fact, approximately 89% of our expenditures support our programs; only 11% of our costs go to fundraising and administration.  For more information on Long Island Cares, visit GuideStar, the national database of U.S. charitable organizations. (You also may want to review the Donor Bill of Rights created by leading philanthropic associations.)

Choose the way to give the works best for you. We – and your neighbors – are truly grateful.

Matching Gifts

Double your donation!

Many companies offer matching gift programs to encourage employees to contribute to charitable organizations. Some even provide matching funds to support employee volunteer hours. Most of these programs match contributions dollar for dollar and some even triple the amount of your gift! Check with your company to see if it offers a matching gift program that will match your gift or your volunteer hours to Long Island Cares. If not, ask them to start one.

United Way

If your company has a United Way Campaign, you can designate your gift to support Long Island Cares. Simply put our name on the “Designated Agency” Line along with your designated gift amount on the pledge form.
