Student Gardening Volunteer Opportunities
We are looking for Volunteer Gardeners! Student volunteers are invited to work alongside Veterans at our Veteran’s Organic Garden located at the Town of Huntington Gateway Park Organic Community Garden.
Student volunteers are invited to work alongside Veterans at our Veteran’s Organic Garden located at the Town of Huntington Gateway Park Organic Community Garden.
This is a weekly commitment to run from April 18th through November 11th.
Students will be partnered with a Veteran to help maintain their garden bed. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing the bed for planting, weeding, plant seeds, water, pruning, harvesting, maintaining the area around the garden bed, and preparing the bed for the winter.
To register to volunteer, you must be between the ages of 10 through your Senior year of High School. Students 10 through 14 must be accompanied by an adult 21 year of age or older.
