Network Relations Manager

Department: Network Relations 

Reports to: Vice President of Network Relations and Capacity Building 

FLSA Classification: Non-exemptFull-Time

Salary: $60,000-$65,000 commensurate with experience

Position Summary: The Manager is responsible for leading the Network Relations team, coordinating daily operations, and ensuring the achievement of both short and long term goals. This role involves supervising staff, providing direction, making informed decisions, monitoring performance, and fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Essential Functions: 

  • Oversee daily team operations to ensure efficiency and work quality
  • Address operational issues promptly and implement effective solutions.
  • Enforce company policies and identify process improvements to boost productivity.
  • Collaborate with senior management on departmental goals and strategies.
  • Assist in budget and resource management for HPNAP, TEFAP, and other grants.
  • Coordinate with other departments to align efforts and achieve company goals.
  • Oversee quality assurance through surveys, reviews, and outcome tracking.
  • Lead and support staff development through goal-setting, feedback, and evaluations.
  • Conduct and attend training sessions, workshops, and conferences.
  • Coordinate cross-departmental activities to meet organizational goals.
  • Represent Long Island Cares in community outreach, events, and public education.
  • Organize and participate in food drives, farmers markets, and related events.
  • Travel to LIC sites, meetings, and events as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the VP.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Must be a self-starter who is driven and capable of keeping track of multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and project management abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Google Workspace, and related tools.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for regional travel.

Physical Demands:

  • Stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor
  • Lift 25 pounds, exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally
  • Drive and/or travel
  • Visual Acuity: Near acuity and accommodation are required for ability to see and read text and copy of written materials for publishing and to read computer screen.
  • Hearing Ability: Ability to interact with staff, public in an informal way or formal way during events or public speaking.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a nonprofit service environment preferred.
  • Staff supervision and training experience required; project management experience a plus.
  • Strong customer service background. 

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking, as needed.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15-20 pounds at times.
