16th Annual Babylon Soldier Ride Raises $40,000 For Long Island Cares

The 16th Annual Babylon Soldier Ride raised a total of $80,000 for Long Island Cares and the Wounded Warrior Project.

The 25-mile race, which is organized by the Wounded Warrior Project, brings together wounded veterans and civilians for a scenic bike ride through town. The ride begins at Babylon Town Hall in Lindenhurst and ends at Overlook Beach in Babylon, capping the day off with a community picnic.

The funds raised from this year’s ride will be split evenly between Long Island Cares, Inc. and the Wounded Warrior Project. Long Island Cares enjoys a strong partnership with the Town of Babylon and are especially grateful to Supervisor Rich Schaffer, Councilwoman Gordon (veteran and event organizer), and Wounded Warrior Project for naming Long Island Cares as the co-beneficiary of this event. This funding will help us to continue to support 50+ veteran families with critical food and personal care products at our satellite service center located just down the road in Lindenhurst. Funding will also go toward essential programs that help Veterans gain employment, through the VetsWork program.
