    THE MOODY BLUES SUPPORT LI CARES WITH SPECIAL BLOCK OF TICKETS & 3-NIGHT FOOD DRIVE AT UPCOMING NYCB THEATRE AT WESTBURY CONCERT

    Music 2 Meals LogoThe Moody Blues, along with the NYCB Theatre at Westbury and Live Nation, have announced a very special promotion to support Long Island Cares, Inc. during The Moody Blues’ three-nights of concerts at the NYCB Theatre at Westbury, March 27-29. The Moody Blues are encouraging their fans to bring a donation of non-perishable food to the NYCB Theatre at Westbury on any one of the three nights to support the hungry on Long Island. All fans that donate food will receive a raffle ticket from Long Island Cares on the evening of each concert for a chance to win a special gift basket including a commemorative Moody Blues concert tee-shirt, CD, and an autographed lithograph of “Days of Future Past.”

     In addition, Long Island Cares has a very special block of tickets available in the orchestra for The Moody Blues concert on Sunday, March 29 at 8:00 PM. Each of the tickets to benefit Long Island Cares is $100 and purchasers will also receive a special commemorative Moody Blues poster!

      For over thirty years, The Moody Blues have been musical mainstays on concert stages, recordings and the airwaves. Their remarkable consistency has generated the sale of over 55 million albums and created a standard for classic rock music which has brought them numerous awards including the NARM Number One World Group Award 1972, 18 platinum records, The Playboy Vocal Group of the Year Award, the Golden Ticket Award for the sale of 100,000 tickets at Madison Square Garden, as well as ASCAP and Performance Awards, and a priceless place in rock history.

    The Moody Blues’ first full studio album, Days of Future Passed, was released on November 11, 1967 and stayed on the Billboard charts for over two years. Featuring the soon-to-be classic “Tuesday Afternoon” and one of the biggest-selling singles of all time, “Nights in White Satin,” the album became a milestone in rock recording. It was one of the very first concept albums and set the style for many others to follow.
