    Freeport Mayor Visits Long Island Cares’ Nassau Service Center

    mayor kennedy photoVillage of Freeport Mayor, Robert Kennedy (second from right) visited Long Island Cares’ Nassau Service Center at 84 Pine Street in Freeport on Wednesday, October 23, 2013.  Mayor Kennedy met with (L-R): Michael Haynes, Coordinator of Government Affairs and Veterans Services; Executive Director Paule Pachter; Jessica Rosati, Director of Program and Community Services; and Dana John Goodrich, JSY Nutrition Manager  (not shown) to discuss our work in assisting Freeport residents in ongoing recovery efforts as we mark the first anniversary of Hurricane Sandy.

    Mayor Kennedy also discussed several major revitalization projects currently planned for the Nautical Mile waterfront area and on Sunrise Highway to boost the local Village economy.  Long Island Cares receives a Community Development Agency grant from the Village of Freeport to fund part of the costs for our Nassau Service Center storefront hunger assistance and community support center.
