SOLICITATION POLICY

Long Island Cares engages in the solicitation of private gifts and grants which enables it to fulfill its mission to bring together all available resources for the benefit of the hungry on Long Island.  Gifts are sought from individuals, corporations and foundations and are sought only for the purposes of programs which further the mission of Long Island Cares.

Long Island Cares, Inc. never uses third-party fundraisers or professional fundraising companies in any capacity to raise funds for our organization.  This includes telemarketing (phone calls or emails) as well as engaging in door-to-door solicitations.  Long Island Cares receives $1.00 out of every $1.00 donated to us and a high percentage of every dollar is spent on our programs and services (please see our How You Can Help Us Fight Hunger web page for the latest reported percentage).
